Much of the information comes from the reminiscences of life-long Madison resident Lillian Sue Wells Livers. Additional information was found by researching city directories, family files, genealogies, digital photographs, and other resources here at the History & Art Center, and through online services, including Ancestry.com, FamilySearch.org, and others. Research was conducted by Jefferson County Historical Society staff and volunteers.
